How Important Education Is To You

A seemingly easy question.  I think it's very important!  I want to home-school the kids until 6th grade but it doesn't look like that will be an option. Unfortunate really.  So, I will help them in public school.  I want to try and teach them to think as a person and not just take what you're given and just accept it.  I hope that I'm able to provide them with lots of extra hands on learning and seeing the world outside of the neighborhood they're growin up in.  I want to push my children to do well in all things but really embrace the area they are strong in so that they might find a passion that I've never had.  I don't think getting straight A's or going to college will make you do well in life but it will certainly help.  I think it's important to learn responsibility and self-motivation early on and school is the perfect place.

As a student I did fine - mostly A's.  It's always been easy for me to pick up on things pretty quick.    I remember I had a teacher who always made me do my papers OVER and OVER because she said she knew I could do better.  I didn't like her but I did like her.  It became a thing for me, I had to impress her.  I would stay up really late working on book reports, just trying to make every single thing perfect.  Other then reports or writing prompts I never did any of my homework.  I finished going to school when I was 16 because I wanted to travel.  My first travel I went to "visit" New York and I just kinda ended up staying there living in the Bronx.  So, I've never gone to college and I started hair school but didn't finish... I want the kids to do better then that.  I could go back to school and I plan to but until I'm really sure of what I want to do I think it would be a waste of time & money.  Know what I mean?
